Hanging out in the intense heat at Tan Son Nhut (Saigon) 1972. Waiting for C-130 to be loaded up for next sortie with destination to Danang. Generally we flew 5-8 sorties each day running up against maximum aircrew hour restrictions as darkness fell upon the land and landscape was illuminated with tracers.

105mm Howitzers Delivery at Natrang

 

105mm Howitzers lined up on ramp at Natrang Air Base. As I recall we could deliver 2-3 of these cannons at a time in the C-130 cargo bay. Note some of the barrels and breaches are protectively wrapped to keep debris ut of the more delicate mechanisms.
